Timbuktu Campground

Timbuktu Campground is the name of the campground at Echo Bluff State Park. It is a newer campground with level concrete pads and some hookups at all sites except the walk-in tent sites. Most campsites have full hookups. One row has electric and water only. It also has quality WiFi that can be accessed from many of the campsites. This is helpful because cell service in the area is spotty.

We like that we can walk right out of our camper and onto a trail for a hike. We also enjoy walking around the state park grounds. You can often see wild horses meandering around the park.

The lodge is a short walk from the campground. If you’re a camper and your friends/family are not, this a great location for everyone to get what they want. You can camp in the campground while they stay in the lodge, or vice versa. There is a general store inside the lodge with some food, souvenirs, and some camping equipment/supplies. The lodge also has a restaurant.

We often stay at Timbuktu Campground when we are visiting Ozark National Scenic Riverways. Several of these sites are located within about 30-45 minutes of the campground.
